With Generative AI solutions becoming increasingly more popular, we are at a turning point in human history where, according to some studies, over half of new content posted on the internet is AI-generated, with this trend accelerating fast.

While I do use AI tools for some personal projects and at $Job, I still think that un-edited IA-generated text looks too plain, formal and bland for me to consider them for sketching and writing articles for publishing here.

The other reason is that English is not my first language, and through repetition I managed to improve my writing skills over the years, so it’s probably a good idea for me to keep exercising it as a way to reinforce some connections as well as create new pathways in my brain.

So, in summary:

❌ I do not use IA solutions for deciding on which subjects to write, nor to write the articles themselves. The ideas and opinions expressed here are my own, unless explicitly stated, and everything is planned and hand-crafted by a human.

✅ I do use IA tools for identifying less obvious typos and bad speech habits, which I use for learning purposes and to help improving my writing.

✅ I do use IA tools for helping on the translation of content to other languages. I write the articles in English and then translate to Portuguese with the help of GenAI or translation tools (both kinds of tools are probably one and the same nowadays), with minor changes to make the text less formal and bland.

✅ I do use IA tools for creating initial versions for the posts’ summaries, with minor changes to highlight the bits of information I find important.

I’m also not strictly against other tools scraping and indexing the content I provide here, as long as they do not DDoS my ass and provide back links to this site whenever they reference the content posted here – although I recognize I’m being overly optimistic about the last one.
